Q1. Who gets Vitiligo?
Ans: Vitiligo is a chronic skin disease due to loss of melanin in melanocytes. This has so far affected people from all race, country and age group. It has affected 1% to 2% population of world i.e. around 2 to 5 million people all around the world are suffering from Vitiligo. A person suffering from autoimmune disease may have more chances to get Vitiligo rather than a person with normal immune system. Vitiligo may also be caused to genetic deposition.
